Melissa George, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Melissa George, our Chief of Staff, is from the Pittsburgh area, where her extended family still resides. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Bioscience from Penn State. She then graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia in 1998.

Dr. George began working at Bradford Hills Veterinary Hospital in 2001. She has a special interest in orthopedic disease diagnosis and management and is certified to complete PennHIP study for screening of hip dysplasia and VetStem stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis. Among other surgeries, Dr. Crowley performs surgical repair of cranial cruciate ligament injury using lateral suture method for dogs under 50 lbs. She is also interested in chronic disease management.

Dr. George loves spending time with her family – husband, Jason, and two daughters, as well as two Labrador Retrievers, two cats, and a flock of chickens! She is an active member of the South Butler School District PTO and enjoys fitness, swimming and being outdoors. Dr. George loves the relationships she makes with patients and clients. She finds great joy in watching the patients grow into adulthood and seniorhood.
